The Republican Children’s Library under the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation is opening a vacancy for a Publishing Program Assistant. You will support the coordination of the library’s publishing programme, accompany projects at every stage, prepare reports, and help ensure that books are not only produced, but also reach their readers.
Responsibilities
— Support publishing and print production projects from concept to publication: monitor the schedule, deadlines and production stages;
— Communicate with contractors and partners, including editors, designers, illustrators, printers and collaborators;
— Manage project documentation: contracts, invoices, acts and closing documents;
— Compile and update reporting presentations for the publishing programme and individual projects;
— Liaise with authors and bookshops, helping to build long-term professional relationships;
— Support contract management from drafting to payment in cooperation with legal and finance teams;
— Maintain the publishing programme calendar and related activities;
— Assist in organising and delivering events at the library and beyond: book launches, lectures, author talks and discussions.
We are looking for
— Experience in publishing, cultural or educational projects, or in project/account management;
— A genuine love of books and interest in children’s and non-fiction literature;
— Accuracy in handling documents and confidence working with spreadsheets, calendars and presentations;
— Strong written and verbal communication skills in professional contexts;
— Proficiency in Russian and Uzbek (English is an advantage);
— Organisation, responsibility, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
